Yesterday, when we went to the park, we noticed that many of the pigeons were fluffing up their neck feathers. We sat down to eat lunch and we saw this pigeon fluffing up and following another pigeon, whom we guessed was a female. The female kept on flying away then coming back. Van, my mom, and I thought that the fluffy pigeon was showing off, so the female would be interested in him, and they would be mates for life.
Turns out, our hypothesis was true. Ms./Mr./Mrs. Wikipedia says that during courtship, the male fluffs up his neck feathers and struts around the female pigeon in semi-circles.
Yesterday in the park, we believe we witnessed the start of many years full of love, romance, and fluffy neck feathers.
